Grey's Anatomy

Is Grey’s Anatomy Killing Too Many Characters?

Grey's Anatomy has never tip-toed lightly around tragedy. Major characters are often psychologically damaged, physically injured, and even killed. It's par for the course at Seattle Grace-Mercy Death.

However, recently the number of major characters dying off seems to have ramped up. Season 8 ended with Lexie's (Chyler Leigh) demise and Season 9 began with Mark's (Eric Dane) goodbye. Then Cristina (Sandra Oh) lost her new mentor, and now there's a spoiler that another "beloved" character is going to kick it in early 2013.

That seems like a lot, especially because the rest of the season hasn't exactly been totally light and fluffy. What do you think: Are the writers going overboard with the deaths, or do you think it all just adds to the drama?
