Under the supervision of his grandfather David (Josh Dallas), Rumplestiltskin, and Regina (Lana Parrilla), Henry goes to sleep as Rumple reads him a “bedtime story.” Rumple speaks about a quill holding magic ink from a very hard-to-find squid who loves at the bottom of a deep, dark sea. Only Rumple or a mermaid can retrieve it.
Part of the complicated tale includes the fact that the Dark One could be stopped with this magic ink. Rumple was the Dark One in Fairytale Land, of course, but he taught Cora (Barbara Hershey) everything she knows about dark magic. Could the Little Mermaid become part of a larger mission to take her down, for good?
As OUAT fans know, the showrunners have mentioned their desire to introduce Ariel sooner rather than later. Maybe this new clue means she’s coming in Season 2!
