Should Merle and Daryl Dixon Join Forces Or Fight Each Other on The Walking Dead Season 3? (POLL)
Blood is thicker than water, but good friends aren’t exactly made of water — so what’s going to happen when Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) reunites with his brother Merle (Michael Rooker) on The Walking Dead Season 3, and realizes Merle has been a bad, bad boy with Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan)?
Merle and Daryl got separated back on The Walking Dead Season 1, when Rick (Andrew Lincoln) chained Merle to the roof of that Atlanta building. By the time Daryl and the group returned to free Merle, he had already left — and left behind his hand. Oops. Daryl managed to forgive Rick, and is now his #2 guy. Meanwhile, Merle landed himself the #2 role in Woodbury, opposite The Governor (David Morrissey). However, The Gov may not trust Merle so much anymore, since Merle lied about killing Michonne (Danai Gurira). Michonne didn’t die, as Merle expected. Instead, she found the prison that The Gov and Merle were torturing Maggie and Glenn to find on Episode 7. Michonne also teamed up with Rick, Daryl and Oscar, and brought them to Woodbury for a good old-fashioned face-off, which we'll see start to play out next week on the midseason finale.
So … since Merle and Daryl are about to face each other, should they hug it out and fight on the same side or fight on opposite sides, Daryl with the prison group and Merle with Woodbury? Do you think Merle could ever forgive Rick for chaining him up and leaving him for dead? Could Daryl ever forgive Merle for beating up Glenn, and letting The Governor mistreat Maggie? Should The Dixon Brothers leave everyone behind and head for the mythical coast everyone talks about? Should Daryl kick the crap out of Merle, just on principle? (One good punch, that’s all we ask!) Now that Maggie has spilled the beans about the prison location, that could put Daryl’s flirt-mate Carol at risk. Could Daryl forgive Merle if anything happened to her?
