Top 4 WTF Moments From Castle Season 5, Episode 8: “After Hours”
Last week’s Castle episode dove right back into the suspense we characteristically know and love, especially with the revelation of this week’s mysterious murderer. Did anyone see that coming?! But that wasn’t the only shocker of the night.
Check out our list of top WTF moments from Castle Season 5, Episode 8: “After Hours,” Don’t see your favorites on the list? Be sure to add them in the comments down below. 1. Kate Forgets That Cell Phones Come Equipped With an Emergency Feature! Everyone’s entitled to an off day, but here’s a tasty tidbit of info that everyone, especially Beckett (after all, she is the police), should know. All cell phone are capable of dialing 9-1-1 in the case of an emergency. The fiery phone owner could have even shut off her service plan, and she could still call for help. Things could have gone a lot smoother for Castle and Beckett, but what would we have done for the remaining 34 minutes? 2. Beckett and Castle Don’t Sing Along to “Call Me Maybe"! We thought the summer’s No. 1 hit evoked the same reaction out of, well, everyone. Yes, we completely understand that they are being hunted by the mob, but how could these two not sing along to Carly Rae’s pop classic, even for a split second? We all know you were when the ringtone came on. That’s like listening to Psy’s “Gangnam Style” without galloping or air-lassoing. It’s just plain wrong and unheard of.
Castle might not be the only one picking up skills from television shows. Cold-blooded killer Leo got his Dr. Phil on by telling Kate that she should stop worrying about her future with Castle and just live in the present. Come to think of it, Leo could have been all ominous and trying to foreshadow their potential fate, but he did have a great point, one that Beckett actually takes to heart.
4. Martha and Jim Get Flirty?!
OK, we don’t want to believe it either (and maybe it’s just in Martha’s less “serious” nature to be all touchy-feely), but who didn’t do a double-take when Martha grabbed Jim’s face as Castle and Beckett greeted them at the precinct? We’re all for these two getting along, but we refuse to add this obstacle to Beckett’s list of reasons why she and Castle might not work.
Let them bond over Beckett’s battle wounds, or Castle’s latest character in his book. But that’s it. Castle and Beckett have enough going on without worrying whether Martha is signing Jim up for husband duty.
