Glee Season 4: Which Song Will Kurt Sing for His NYADA Audition?

Kurt (Chris Colfer) gave a mind-blowingly amazing performance of “Not the Boy Next Door” from The Boy From Oz in his first NYADA audition. When he didn’t make it into the school, we were SHOCKED. (Seriously Whoopi Goldberg? Tell us you weren’t blown away, if not by his performance than at least the gold lamé pants...)

So, when it comes to his second chance audition in Season 4, Episode 9, "Swan Song" what will Kurt sing? The original Phantom of the Opera song he proposed before making the “bold choice”? Nope, Kurt is going to be singingBeing Alive” from the Stephen Sondheim musical Company.

While we’re sure he’ll kill it, with all the open note opportunities to show off his soaring vocals and perfect pitch, we’re a little baffled by the choice. Why? Well, when he first goes on stage in front of Carmen Tibideaux, he says of the Phantom song “I bet you hear a lot.” To which she replies, “That, ‘The Impossible Dream’ from La Mancha, and ‘Being Alive’ from Company.”

So, why this choice? We’re not sure exactly. Does Kurt feel like his big chance didn’t pay off with the jazzier Oz song? Tell us your thoughts below.
