Nashville’s Top 3 Music Moments From Season 1, Episode 7: “Lovesick Blues”

Nashville packs so many amazing song performances into each episode that it’s hard to keep track of them all. And while we love each and every one, life is all about choices, so here are our top 3 music moments from Season 1, Episode 7, “Lovesick Blues.” (Psst! You can buy them all here!)

3. Deacon performs “Papa Writes to Johnny” at the Bluebird
We agree with Scarlett that Deacon (Charles Esten)’s song this week is definitely sob-inducing but it’s also quite beautiful. In this week episode, Liam remarks that Deacon should have made it big, so we’re hoping it’s foreshadowing and that Deacon might still have a breakout solo hit before too long. Deacon does so much for others, so now he deserves a little luck of his own.

2. Scarlett sings “Ring of Fire”
So long, stage fright! Heck, Scarlett (Clare Bowen)’s impromptu rendition of “Ring of Fire” darn near gave the Johnny Cash original a run for its money. Still, as amazing as this was, it also made us long for another mind-blowing Scarlett-Gunnar duet. Hurry up and get writing, you two! We’re getting impatient over here!

1. Rayna and Juliette’s duet, “Wrong Side”
We’re not sure what spell Rayna (Connie Britton) and Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) are under to quote a line from this sensational duet but we’re totally spellbound by this tune. Rayna and Juliette don’t seem thrilled about the propsect of ever performing together again, but if you ask us, the thought of them depriving the world of their harmonies and stage presence is nearly makes us weep. The wrong song? Hardly.

Loved the music in this episode!

Nah, this wasn't my favorite.
