The Walking Dead Season 3 Spoilers: Milton Will Struggle With The Governor and Woodbury

Milton is one of those characters on The Walking Dead, like Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), who were never in the original comic books. So it's hard to even guess what might be coming for him.

Actor Dallas Roberts talked to Screen Rant about what’s next for mild-mannered Milton on Season 3, including his zombie/walker/biter experiments, and his relationship with The Governor (David Morrissey).

“He’s definitely loyal to the Governor and on that side,” Dallas said, “but he realizes that the Governor’s up to stuff that’s quirky to say the least and murderous sometimes to say the most, and he’s not a fan of that – but he recognizes that in order to provide the civilization of Woodbury, they’re out there on the edges and there’s some dirty stuff going on.”

We’ve been worried that Milton might be considered an expendable character who bites the dust when the Woodbury/Prison group clash heats up. But maybe not. Dallas mentioned how the whole season just wrapped shooting, so he’s “nine episodes ahead” of the rest of us. (That’s counting this Sunday’s midseason finale, and the eight episodes that will start airing in February.)

Asked for some teasers for Milton’s future, Dallas said, “Milton’s gonna continue to struggle with his attempt to sort of codify the virus and he’s gonna struggle with the differences between him and the Governor, and which way Woodbury’s gonna go.” He added that “I’ve got tons of really fun, memorable scenes, but I can’t tell you about any of them.”

From the spoilers we’ve read about the midseason finale, there’s going to be too much going on for Milton have have tons of memorable scenes, so he must be talking about stuff that happens in the second half of the season. The Gov is probably going to go on the rampage against Rick’s prison group (especially a certain person in particular...) and it sounds like Milton will be conflicted about the war ahead.
