Kristina Robinson on 16 And Pregnant: “The Money Is Not Worth the Drama”
Kristina Robinson's episode of 16 and Pregnant was one of the most emotional we've seen, mostly because her baby daddy, Todd Hight Jr., died when she was just two months pregnant.
Kristina and Todd had agreed to star on 16 and Pregnant before his death, and Kristina had to make a big decision about whether or not to continue filming after he died.
"Once we got past the casting part, Todd passed away," Kristina tells Panola Watchman. "I had a few weeks to decide if I still wanted to do the show.”
Kristina chose to appear on 16 and Pregnant despite Todd's tragic death, but it was hard for her to get used to MTV's cameras.
“The crew was there for three to five days then I would get a week or two weeks, maybe even a month alone; then they would come back,” Kristina says.
“At first it was really hard to focus on doing stuff for them that they needed to film. I really didn’t have a private life.”
For a while, Kristina was rumored to be the fourth girl on MTV's new installment of Teen Mom, but she doesn't have plans to be a reality star.
“The money is not worth the drama you get from doing the show,” Kristina explains. “Some of the details are off in the show. I had my son at 32 weeks, but the show said 34 weeks. Otherwise, everything was all true. Nothing on the show is fake, and it’s not scripted.”
Despite being true-to-life, 16 and Pregnant is a painful reminder of Kristina's tragic past. "After I watched my show, I got tired of watching myself on television," she says. "I get tired of being reminded of the whole story.”
