Where Did the Guy Who Plays Jake on Glee Learn to Dance?

If you watched Season 4, Episode 8, "Thanksgiving,” you likely saw a first glimpse at Jake Puckerman’s mad dance skills. One moment he was just flirting in a leather jacket, and the next he was leaping elegantly and talking ballet.

So, just where did actor Jacob Artist pick up those skills? (Glee choreographer Zach Woodlee’s amazing but those moves are deep.) Well, this isn’t homeskillet’s first rodeo. Jacob has been dancing since he was a wee lad, and before he decided to pursue acting full time, he was accepted to Juilliard’s super-competitive dance program!

I started dancing when I was five, and I trained intensively as a competitive dancer up until the end of high school. I did all genres, and later on a did a lot of extra ballet on top of that,” he told TV Line. No kidding, buddy.

He’s been looking forward to showing off a little on Glee. “The show has great choreographers and some really spectacular dancers like Heather Morris.”

Do you think he kept up with HeMo on the episode? Weigh in below.
