After all the speculation, rumors and obsessing over Kate’s clothes and eating habits, Buckingham Palace released a statement to People that confirms a royal baby is on the way for Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton!
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," reads the statement. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."
But Kate’s pregnancy is off to a slightly rocky first trimester start, as she’s suffering morning sickness severe enough to warrant a hospital stay. Kate’s been checked in to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London, the statement continues, "As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."
Here’s to hoping the morning sickness passes soon (Ugh — we feel you on this, Kate), so the royal couple can begin nesting for their precious prince or princess to come!
