Bristol entered Dancing With the StarsAll-Stars as one of the least skilled dancers, and for that reason Val Chmerkovskiy had his eye on her as a good partner. He had bad luck on his first two competing seasons, first with Elisabetta Canalis, and then with Sherri Shepherd. We figured he and Sherri would make it far together, so we were shocked when they were eliminated third.
After that, Val wanted to manage expectations a bit, and who better to help him out than Bristol the Pistol?
"Going into [Season 15] I had very different views and my imagination was taking me in a different way," Val revealed to Entertainment Tonight. "My expectations were very, very different. I was really happy to the idea of Bristol Palin, only because I was so discouraged with my last two seasons that I was like, look, I'm going into the All-Stars season, which is definitely going to be the most competitive, and the last two seasons I've been eliminated in [Week] 2, 3. ... I was like, Bristol? At least I'll have an excuse. At least they'll be a reason and I'll be like 'Well, I did my best.'"
Kelly Monaco, the woman he actually got paired with, laughed at the story. Team Vally had the magic connection to help him not only get past the third week, but to make it to the All-Stars finals. They took third place and took over headlines with their chemistry. Who knows, maybe Season 16 will take him all the way to Mirror Ball glory?
