Watch Trevin Hunte Sing “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” From Dreamgirls on The Voice Season 3 Live Show, Dec. 3, 2012 (VIDEO)
Team Cee Lo's Trevin Hunte went back to his blind audition roots, singing "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls on The Voice Season 3 live shows tonight, Dec. 3, 2012.
Since his coach was under the weather, Train’s Pat Monahan stepped in to help him out, suggesting that Trevin show his “vulnerable side.” The young singer listened, standing in the spotlight alone for most of the song until the curtains pulled back and revealed an orchestra behind him.
Both Christina and Cee Lo gave him big standing ovations, and Carson even wrapped him up in a hug! Adam kicked off the commentary, saying, “That’s one of the best performances I’ve seen on the show, seriously, maybe ever.” Blake agreed, claiming, “That was like a full two-minute moment right there … that might be the first time I didn't see you ever hold back. That was just full-on Trevin. That was incredible.”
Christina was so floored that she had to fan herself as she spoke. “It’s about an emotion, and when you hit those notes … there’s something about you that’s so magical,” she said, even proposing that she take him “under her wing” on tour if he doesn’t win!
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to have a moment of silence to just mourn the loss of all other competition,” his coach, Cee Lo, said, closing out the comments. “Trevin, oh my god. That was so remarkable, man. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for blessing me today.”
With the new setup, fans can vote for their favorite contestants by calling in, voting on Facebook or NBC.com, texting (for Sprint users), or by buying their song on iTunes. If you liked Trevin’s performance, be sure to vote at the end of the show!
