Dancing With the Stars All-Stars: Our Top 5 Favorite Dances on Season 15 (VIDEO)

From Bollywood to Bhangra, and all the Surfer Flamenco Cowboy Cavemen in between, Dancing With the Stars All-Stars was not short on memorable routines. We all have our favorites, for any number of reasons. Even though it's hard to just pick a handful, here are our five faves from Season 15. We ended up with three slow, emotional routines and two in-your-face, what-the-heck-was-that crowd-pleasers. Share your own favorites in the comments!

5. Apolo Ohno & Karina Smirnoff, Viennese Waltz
All-Stars didn't feature many deeply personal dances — they were too busy with all those funky new themes — so it stood out as particularly special when Apolo and Karina danced a Viennese Waltz to Rascal Flatt's "Skin (Sarabeth)." The song is about a girl with cancer who dances at her prom, and touched a chord with Apolo and Karina, who both felt personal connections to the theme. As judge Carrie Ann Inaba said, "Dance without emotion is just movement for movement's sake. That is not what I just saw. That was poetry in motion."

4. Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani, Freestyle
Freestyles win seasons and this Freestyle helped Melissa and Tony win. They took a risk with Contemporary, and it paid off. The dance focused on Melissa and her strengths — including her amazing extensions and lines — instead of surrounding her with gimmicks. It was a beautiful showcase. Len Goodman even wanted to give it his 11 paddle!

3. Kelly Monaco & Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Rumba
As much as we loved their Week 3 Paso Doble, this Semifinals Rumba to Michael Jackson’s "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" is the definitive Team Vally dance. Raw, passionate, intimate, sensual … and underappreciated by the judges. Yep, that’s Kelly and Val!

2. Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough & Mark Ballas's Tribal Trio Samba
Deal with it, Len! If Derek is really out to make great, memorable YouTube videos from his DWTS performances, he sure did it with this one. It was Week 8 and they were told to do a Samba, but All-Stars is All-Stars, and three-time champ Derek looked at the whole thing as a challenge, with the rules seeming more like suggestions. Len wasn't happy with this non-Samba Samba (remember the 7 he gave it?), but it's just a wild, visceral, heart-pumping routine. No offense to their Freestyle, but this kind of upstaged it. And was that really America's Sweetheart Shawn Johnson out there? Dang, girl!

1. Team Gangnam Style
Scoff all you want — this was the highlight of our season. Heck, maybe even our year. It never gets old! Sure, Team Call Me Maybe had the better technical dancers and their routine looked like it was done by pros, but we still can't watch this dance without smiling and even giggling like tweens. There are too many good moments to single out, but Emmitt Smith on all fours as Cheryl Burkelooked like she was riding him — that was certainly a surprise. The whole thing was perfected when judge Bruno Tonioli asked to borrow Gilles Marini’s towel to wipe himself down — and Gilles threw him the towel, revealing his tighty whities! Magic.
