It's all about the interns: This episode will be from the interns' POV. Don't groan, guys. Maybe it will be good to get to know the newbies more, and there will still be plenty of juicy stuff with the main cast.
Meredith and Derek's argument: Intern Heather (Tina Majorino) will find herself in a tricky situation when she's assigned to Meredith. The problem? Mer makes Heather do some research on a procedure for Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) hand and Derek, apparently still on the edge about the whole thing, "ends up screaming" at both of them. We guess the news of Mer's pregnancy doesn't fix everything...
Derek's sister. This is also the episode where we meet Derek's sister Liz (Neve Campbell). According to Nev, she and Derek get along "to an extent." Is she around because of Derek's hand? She is a doctor, and we don't know what kind. Maybe she has relevant experience.
A romance for Alex? It sounds like Alex's (Justin Chambers) love life will play a key role this episode. As you can see in this sneak peek, intern Leah (Tessa Ferrer) is majorly pining over Alex after he slept with her (which is why you don't sleep with the interns!).
While Alex isn't interested in poor Leah, Jo (Camilla Luddington) might be a different story. She's working with Alex this week and, as Camilla explains, "Alex gets under her skin as no one else has done." Based on this sneak peek, she gets under his skin, too — but Camilla teases that we shouldn't be surprised if Jo is Alex's "person," and in this episode Alex ends up seeing her "in a new light."
Romantic stuff happens. Whether it's between Alex and Jo or someone else, this episode will definitely involve "romantic stuff," according to Gaius Charles (Shane). Could there be sparks between Shane and the now definitely-single April (Sarah Drew), who he's paired with this week? Maybe ... but they're working on a "gross" patient, which doesn't exactly scream new romance. Either way, April will teach him a "valuable lesson."
