Promo for Glee Season 4 Christmas: In-Depth Analysis of Episode 10: “Glee, Actually”

The holidays are coming early this year, and Glee Christmas is just one week away! Season 4, Episode 10: “Glee, Actually” looks to be packed with holiday mishaps, heartwarming tales, and lots of crazy, end-of-the world adventures.

We’ve seen the promo for the episode, and now we’re breaking it down — second by second, frame by frame — in search of clues about what is about to happen next. Take a look at what we’ve managed to uncover.

00:01 — Introducing... Sam and the Reindeerios!
Yes, we said Reindeerios.” The Cheerios are all dressed up like sexy little reindeer: noses, antlers, and all. Sam (Chord Overstreet) will be singing the holiday classic, Jingle Bell Rock,” with the Cheerios as his backup dancers.

00:03 — “Have yourself a merry Mayan apocalypse.”
That’s right, y’all. 2012 is coming to a close, which means that the end of the world is almost upon us. Naturally, both Britt and Sam are convinced that their lives are about to be over, so they’ve decided to take full advantage of what little time they have left.

00:05 — Sam gets down on one knee.
“Before the world ends, will you marry me?” Yes, he’s really proposing to her. And based on the spoiler photo Glee creator Ryan Murphy tweeted earlier, there really is going to be a Brittany and Sam wedding! But is it a real wedding, or just a fake one? We could imagine either is possible with these two involved, but we still don’t know which.

00:07 — “With holiday reunions.”
Kurt’s dad, Burt Hummel (Mike O’Malley) is flying to NYC to spend Christmas with his son. But he’s not the only one. We’ve already seen the photos, so we know that Blaine (Darren Criss)’s coming too. Not only do they hang out at Kurt’s apartment, but the two (former?) lovebirds will also sing a duet of “White Christmas” — while on a wintery ice skating date.

Still, don’t expect Klaine to return to coupledom quite yet. They may have mended their friendship, but it’s sounding like their romantic relationship isn’t a sure thing quite yet.

00:11 — “Elaborate productions”
The New Directions sing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” on the McKinley stage, and Becky’s even helping out by working the snow machine. So cute!

00:13 — “And what would happen if glee club....”?
The screen goes black and white. Artie’s (Kevin McHale) face appears on screen. Glee is about to pay tribute to the classic holiday movie It’s a Wonderful Life — by seeing what McKinley would be like if the glee club had never existed. What’s more, we have it on very good authority that Rory (Damian McGinty) is returning as Artie’s guardian angel.

00:15 — “... never happened at all?”
“Let go of me!” yells a frumpy, librarian Rachel. Without Artie and the glee club, the gorgeous NYADA starlet would never have realized her true potential.

00:21 — And Mr. Schue is... a deadbeat?
He takes a big swig from a flask, staring dully at the chalkboard of his Spanish classroom. His wife, Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig) storms in... and she’s holding a baby! “Will, I need your paycheck before you blow it all on booze and flannel shirts.”

A world without the glee club is turning out to look like a very frightening place, indeed.
