Rita Ora is often compared to Rihanna, but the British pop star’s ethnic background is much different from that of the Barbadian beauty.
Rita was born in Pristina, Kosovo (formerly a part of Yugoslavia with a large Albanian population), and immediately moved to West London, England. She now lives in Kensington, a district of London, but has been back visit her birthplace a couple of times.
The video for her song “Shine Ya Light” was filmed in Kosovo, with Rita performing for excited locals in her hometown. She also performed at a special party celebrating the 100th anniversary of Albania’s independence and even had tea with the president of Albania.
It sounds like she’s a hot commodity all over Europe!
