The X Factor

X Factor 2012 Top 4 Power Rankings: Tate Stevens Rides Again

Name: Tate Stevens
Ranking: 1
Pros: Remember that movie Country Strong starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Leighton Meester? Well, we think it's secretly about Tate Stevens. Get it? Because he's country strong. Our love for Tate is growing even more rapidly than Simon's chest hair, and at this point we can't imagine a world where he doesn't with The X Factor. If Tate has to go back to pouring concrete, we'll probably prison tattoo an Ed Hardy shirt onto our body in protest.
Cons: Tate's performances haven't been as spot-on as they usually are. His acoustic song got straight-up hated on by all the judges, and he skipped out on the high notes! Tate needs to stick to his country roots if he's going to stay on top. May we suggest Kid Rock's "Bawitdaba"?

Name: Carly Rose Sonenclar
Ranking: 2
Pros: The only thing more beautiful than Carly's voice is the sound of the microwave dinging after it's warmed up our leftover pizza. In other words, her vocal chops are nothing short of miraculous. Carly's performances are always spot-on, she manages to say no to silly bands, and we cry almost every time she sings. Basically, she is the real deal, and we'll be shocked if she doesn't steal the #1 spot back from Tate!
Cons: There's no doubt that Carly has a killer voice, but she hasn't worked the stage — or her audience. We'd love to see this gal pump up her kicks and try something a little more upbeat during the semifinals, otherwise she risks being called a one trick pony by Demi "I Judge Thee" Lovato.

Name: Emblem3
Ranking: 3
Pros: Emblem3 wins all the awards! You guys, they do pushups and hug each other in their freetime. And need we remind you that the lyrics to their mega-hit "Sunset Boulevard" contain this gem: "I love my women like I love my juice. Naked." Um, yes please. Emblem3 might be slipping down the leaderboard, but we expect them to make their triumphant debut at #1 now that they've broken out their acoustic side. And by "acoustic" we mean Drew playing drums on his abs.
Cons: Emblem3 have been accused of doing the same thing week after week, but OMG we have an idea! Let's not forget that these three first caught the judges eye after they performed their own single. Maybe it's time for them to take the stage with a selfie? Something has to change, otherwise L.A. is going to vote them outtie 500!

Name: Fifth Harmony
Ranking: 4
Pros: Fifth Harmony have finally learned how to do harmonies, so golf-claps all around. And, um... Their hair looks really good?
Cons: This is the problem: Half of the time, Fifth Harmony put on a truly fantastic performance and we're just like "girl power, let's burn all the bras!" But the other half of the time, their rhythm is off, and they can even sound a bit pitchy. This is hardly surprising, considering that Fifth Harmony has only been together a hot second, but they need to be consistently A+ if they want to make it to the finals!
