Chris Colfer vs. Neil Patrick Harris on “Being Alive” — Who Sang It Best?

Last night on Glee, Kurt (Chris Colfer) had one killer impromptu NYADA audition. Put on the spot by scary Madame Carmen Tibideaux (Whoopi Goldberg), Kurt performed “Being Alive” from Company. Despite the fact that Carmen has heard it a thousand times, his performance was beyond moving. We got chills, shouted encore, and felt...well, alive. We also dropped all notions that Kurt should quit music and devote his life to fashion.

Being total musical theater geeks, we remembered another Glee star who has sung this show tune: Broadway star Neil Patrick Harris. Glee fans will remember Neil as Will Schuester’s (Matthew Morrison) nemesis, Bryan Ryan, in Season 1, Episode 9: “Dream On.” However, he has numerous stage credits, which most recently include playing Bobby in the New York Philharmonic’s Company Concert.

What do you think — does Chris’s rendition outshine Neil’s?
