Pregnant Kate Middleton Is Still Sick, So Prince William Will Watch The Hobbit Without Her
Is it really love if one spouse heads to Middle-earth without the other?
Kate Middleton, aka the Duchess of Cambridge, was discharged from the hospital last Thursday, but her pregnancy sickness got worse on Sunday while she was recuperating at Kensington Palace. Prince William, aka the Duke of Cambridge, canceled an engagement for that night, but he can't stay by her side forever so he's back out and about, while she still recovers.
On that note, Kate will miss the Royal Film Performance of The Hobbit scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, December 12) but William will still attend the screening. (Boys have it way too easy!) A spokesman for St James's Palace said (via the Telegraph of the UK): "The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend The Hobbit Premiere tomorrow evening and will continue to rest privately."
Kate has hyperemesis gravidarum, and Caitlin Dean, a trustee of the charity Pregnancy Sickness Support, told the Telegraph, "She is not going to be completely better by 12 weeks. It's a very slow progression and she may feel a lot better by the time she gets to 17 or 18 weeks, but it could carry on much longer than that."
Poor Kate. We were thinking some nice quiet time away from the cameras would be welcome, but not if you have to miss The Hobbit!
