8-Year-Old Donates All His Birthday Presents to Charity
It was time for Chase Branscum of Owasso, Oklahoma to celebrate his 8th birthday. While most kids his age are making miles-long lists of gifts and gadgets their little hearts desire, Chase was thinking of something else — or someone else. Rather than having a traditional celebration with cake and presents for himself, Chase decided he would host a Toys for Tots toy drive.
Of his decision, Chase tells Fox News 23, “I already have toys and other kids don’t.” It’s a simple answer that speaks to the heart of the season. Local business owners stepped up to help Chase’s cause, including Danny Stockton, owner of Red Dot Laser Tag. Danny opened his business to partygoers, allowing them to play laser tag and munch on some party snacks.
Over 100 guests showed up with toys, and at the end of the day more than 500 gifts were collected for Toys for Tots in Chase’s honor. His mother, Tiffany Rowe, tells the news station that Chase “has a wonderful heart... Him doing this was a gift to me.”
Talk about a Secret Santa!
