Did Castle’s First Christmas Live Up to Your Expectations?

Throughout Castle’s five glorious seasons, we had yet to see anyone get into the Christmas spirit, but that all changed in Season 5, Episode 9: “Secret Santa.”

While Castle and Beckett didn’t spend the episode decking the halls together nor kissing under the mistletoe, the final minutes were a total game-changer. Kate always spent the holidays working, convinced that she had to protect everyone since she couldn’t save her mother, but then she had an epiphany, realizing that it was never too late to change her traditions.

At the same time, while having dinner with his mom and Alexis, Rick decided that he needed to be with his lady love, trying to rush out of the house after exclaiming, “There’s someplace I need to be.”

To his surprise, Beckett was waiting outside of his door, and they both announced, “I was just coming to see you” in unison. Aww! From there, they decided it was time for a “new tradition,” which included a kiss in front of the Christmas tree and smiles all around.

While end of the episode was sweet, since there were no adorable gifts exchanged or stolen moments under the mistletoe, we felt a little gypped. However, any Caskett moments make us happy, and we can’t wait to see their new holiday traditions.
