Fifty Shades of Grey Casting: Should Anne Hathaway Play Anastasia Steele?
Anne Hathaway created quite the accidental stir before the December 10 New York City premiere of Les Misérables, when she flashed her nether regions while ungracefully exiting a limo without underwear.
“It was devastating,” Anne told Vanity Fair (via the New York Daily News). “They saw everything. I might as well have lifted up my skirt for them.”
It was a rare misstep for the typically poised 30-year-old star, but the incident — and her strappy, dominatrix-esque Tom Ford sandals and high-slit Tom Ford gown — got us thinking: Could Anne pull off the role of young, impressionable, innocently sexy Anastasia Steele in the upcoming film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey?
There’s certainly no debating her talent as an actress. She’s been nominated for one Oscar (Rachel Getting Married, 2009), two Golden Globes (Rachel Getting Married and Love and Other Drugs), and four SAGs (Brokeback Mountain, Rachel Getting Married, and two for Les Mis), and she’s played everything from an overworked editorial assistant to Catwoman.
What do you think: Would she fit the Fifty Shades bill, or is she a little too old and a little too bold?
