Britney Spears Was Not’s First Choice to Sing “Scream & Shout”: Report

Have you guys seen that video made featuring Britney Spears — “Scream & Shout”? The jazzy new club single was released last month and premiered during an episode of The X Factor.

As you’ll recall, Will was Brit’s guest mentor on the Season 2 Judges’ Houses episodes, and helped her whittle down the impressive six contestants to the four who did so well on the live shows. But even though they worked so well together as mentors on the show, they almost didn’t work together on the hit single.

According to MTV UK, a different X Factor judge almost sang on the hook instead of Brit-Brit. X Factor UK judge Tulisa Contoslavos originally co-wrote the tune with Will’s collaborator, and intended to release it on her solo album The Female Boss as a single entitled “I Don’t Give a F***.”

Buuuuut that didn’t happen. When heard the track, he, um, stole it. Sort of. But he must have liked the way the song sounded with a British bent, considering he had Brit sing the hook in an English accent.
