Chris was asked by AfterElton whether this time apart may actually make it more likely for the couple to have a future together. “I think so, and I think it’s good for them just to have their own lives rather than be halves of one character,” he says.
Chris believes that the audience will enjoy seeing the two characters grow as individuals for a bit. “I think, at least as an audience member, I kind of want to watch them go and do their own thing, and then if they come back together in the end sure, great,” he says.
“But I think they should probably live their own lives rather than sharing a life. I think that’ll do them some good.”
Chris says previous comments he’s made in other interviews — about wanting Klaine to face some adversity — have gotten him in hot water with Klaine fans, but he stands by what he said. “That’s like saying you’re mad at me because I wish it was cloudy today,” Chris explains. “It’s part of life.”
Let’s just hope Klaine fans won’t need that metaphorical umbrella for too much longer.
