The Voice

Who Is the Strongest Winner of The Voice — Cassadee Pope, Jermaine Paul, or Javier Colon?

Last night, we closed the door on another fantastic season of killer performances, chart-topping singles, and phenomenal talent on The Voice. Team Blake’s Cassadee Pope was crowned this season’s winner, becoming the first female to take home the show’s top prize.

Not only is Cassadee the first to bring some girl power to the winner’s circle, but she’s also the most successful contestant to date. Throughout the course of the show, she’s reached the No. 1 spot on the iTunes chart three times, and her cover of Miranda Lambert’s “Over You” set Voice records. The single has sold more than 200,000 copies since it was first performed on Nov. 19, 2012.

She leaves The Voice with a solid fan base and a strong songwriting background from her Hey Monday days, which makes us hopeful for her post-Voice future.

Last season Team Blake’s Jermaine Paul surprised us all when he took the title over predicted winner Juliet Simms (who coincidentally is friends with Cassadee Pope). The former backup singer gave a tearful final performance and ended Season 2 in a blaze of confetti.

But since then, Jermaine has only released one song we know of — mostly because it’s played endlessly on Samsung commercials during The Voice. In Jermaine’s defense, it’s only been seven months since his big win, so he’s probably still working on his album.

Season 1 winner Javier Colon doesn’t have as good of an excuse, though. His post-Voice album peaked at 134 on the charts and there were no real stand-out singles.

So based on current numbers, we think Cassadee Pope’s win is a great milestone for The Voice — one that will put it on the map permanently and give the show much more credibility.

Who do you think is the strongest winner thus far? Vote below!
