Dancing With The Stars

DWTS Pro Dmitry Chaplin Lands Role on Bones (UPDATE)

Update: Dmitry revealed the air date of his appearance on Bones, tweeting "Bones episode will air on January 14th!" and linking to the promo below! Catch Dmitry's episode of Bones Monday, January 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

Good news: Dmitry Chaplin is returning to TV! He isn't stepping in to compete on Dancing With the Stars Season 15 All-Stars — although we'd love that — but the Russian hottie will soon play a fictional dancer on an upcoming episode of Bones.

According to TVLine, So You Think You Can Dance’s Mary Murphy, Tyce Diorio and Dmitry (who competed on SYTYCD Season 2) will appear in an upcoming episode where Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) go undercover as contestants at a popular ballroom dancing competition. Dmitry tweeted that he will be dancing, acting and choreographing for the show, and TVLine says the episode should air in late November or early 2013.

Dmitry's new gig is just the latest in a great tradition of DWTS pros landing true-to-life roles. Maksim Chmerkovskiy recently played a ballroom dancer on The Exes. DWTS pro Karina Smirnoff had a guest appearance as herself on ABC's Don't Trust the B-- in Apartment 23. Mark Ballas played himself on Melissa & Joey. Tom Bergeron played a talk show host on Castle. Julianne Hough showed off her dancing skills in Footloose and Rock of Ages. Derek Hough played a dance instructor on Better With You and will soon show off more of his dance skills in Cobu 3D.

Congrats, Dmitry!

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays on ABC.
