Snowflakes for Sandy Hook: How You Can Help Welcome Students Back to School

In the wake of a tragedy of the magnitude of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, all we want to do is help — but how? Here’s a way that you and your kids can create something special to help bring a little joy to the students at Sandy Hook.

In a heartwarming effort, members of the Connecticut PTA have organized a project that will ensure the children of Sandy Hook are welcomed with a wonderful sight when they return to school in a new building: a flurry of snowflakes. They’re asking any and all to create paper snowflakes to be displayed in the halls and “welcome students back to a winter wonderland of beautiful, unique paper snowflakes.”

We have a feeling there won’t be enough walls to display all of the snowflakes that will be flooding in! If you and your family would like to participate, send your snowflakes to the Connecticut PTA by January 12, 2013. Tell everyone you know and help deck the halls for these little ones.
