Miss Universe’s Slimming Secrets: Which Fruit “Reduces Swelling”?
It’s almost 2013, and that means it’s almost time for New Year’s resolutions about getting fit.
Miss USA Olivia Culpo is now the new Miss Universe 2012, crowned last night, and she recently talked to Shape magazineabout what she eats almost every day to stay healthy. “I love unsalted almonds, especially if I’m about to do a photo shoot or compete,” Olivia said. “There’s no mess, and they’re so easy to pack in a little Ziploc bag to take with you. It’s my number one go-to-snack!” She also said she likes to eat the meal replacement Special K Bars. “There’s more protein in the meal bars, and I think a high-protein diet with low carbs is a great choice."
And here’s a tangy tip: “Pineapple reduces swelling,” Olivia said. “You’re filmed that one very special day of the pageant, and you want to make sure you’re as ready to go as you can be."
Speaking of anti-bloating fruit tips, actress/host Jenny McCarthy is on the new Shape cover and she said watermelon is her super-food. "It helps you if you retain water," she explained of the "Natural diuretic ... It's really filling and yummy."
