5 Things to Know About Grey’s Anatomy Star Sara Ramirez

You love Sara Ramirez from her role on Grey's Anatomy. But how much do you know about the woman behind Callie Torres?

While we might not have much to teach the most devoted Sara fans, for those of you who haven't yet memorized her biography, here are five interesting facts about the actress.

1. She's a Broadway star. Sara is a Tony-winning Broadway star — she took home the Featured Actress in a Musical award for her role as The Lady of the Lake in Monty Python's Spamalot. No wonder she can sing so well!

2. She was born in Mexico. She moved to the U.S. when she was eight.

3. She speaks fluent Spanish. Unsurprisingly, she speaks Spanish fluently.

4. She went to Juilliard. That talent didn't come from nowhere: She attended one of the most respected performing arts schools in the country.

5. She was in You've Got Mail. One of her earliest screen roles was in this iconic film. You may remember her as the cashier who wouldn't take a credit card. Classic.
