Lea Michele Didn’t Get a Role in Les Miz — So What Did She Think of the Film?
If you ask us, the current film adaptation of Les Misérables isn’t quite the same without Glee star Lea Michele (Rachel) in the cast. However, it sounds like even Lea herself thinks that the film is still pretty great nonetheless.
Lea acknowledged last year that she had auditioned for the role of Eponine in the film version that was just released in theaters on Christmas. We think that Lea — who played the role of Young Cosette on Broadway in the mid-’90s — would be perfect as Eponine, but the role went instead to newcomer Samantha Barks.
However, Lea hasn’t let that missed opportunity deter her from enjoying the film. On December 25, she tweeted:
Just saw Les Mis.. is was amazing!! As a member of the Les Mis family I thought they did an amazing job and truly honored the show:)
It sounds like Lea may have dreamed a dream of starring in the Les Miz film, given that the the musical provided her start in showbiz. But we love that Lea is still so positive about the film. Yet one more reason why we love her!
