What Is Jennifer Lawrence’s Empowering New Year’s Resolution?

Jennifer Lawrence is going to get a little more Katniss tough next year.

The Hunger Games star is on the new cover of South Africa's Marie Claire magazine, and in addition to talking about her love for reality TV and junk food, she discussed her plans for 2013.

“My New Year’s Resolution is to stand up for myself," Jennifer said (via Gossip Cop). "It’s hard for me. Nobody wants to be disliked. You always want to be polite and be nice. [...] I tried to find a balance in saying what I mean and still being nice. I can’t do it. I have this ‘okay’ attitude and everything. I end up allowing myself to get walked over and resenting it.”

Yes, just say no to passive-aggressive enabling in 2013. Stand up for yourself, even if it means someone else isn't happy about it. And never say "okay" if you mean the opposite! Sometimes playing nice to avoid confrontation just isn't worth the inevitable resentment.
