How to Beat the Post-Holiday Blues

You spend months planning special holiday events from November through New Year’s and BOOM! It’s o-v-e-r. With nothing major marking your calendar, you may start to feel a little down. Not ready to give in to the post-holiday blues? Try some techniques that’ll give you the boost you need to get going.

According to WebMD, all you need are three BAGs (of course, we’re not sure 3 bags are enough for any girl, but let’s hear them out). BAG stands for “Big Audacious Goal.” A new year means a fresh, clean calendar to put some plans on those blank pages. Don’t over commit but do pick three things that you’re going to do this year and go for it.

Don’t know where to start? How about filling up your BAG up with...

Become bilingual. Learning a second language is challenging (in a good way) and time consuming if you do it right. Schedule yourself to take classes or spend time with a friend who speaks what you’re trying to learn.

Take up a new sport. Get your head in the game by learning a new sport, whether it be tennis, golf, or paddleboarding.

Consider a career change. If you’re current job is bringing you down, it might be time to think about moving on. Talk to someone who does what you think you might like to do and just go for it!

Volunteer. Want to make your life, and someone else’s better? Donate your time, your energy, and your resources as a volunteer. Pick something that matters to you and take the plunge. Volunteering bonus: You might make a new friend who shares your passion.
