Colin talked to TVLine about what’s coming next, and he said it will be a surprise to Hook that Storybrooke has magic, so he’s going to have to figure out the best way to get the better of a magical guy like Rumple without having access to magic himself. That’s led some fans to wonder whether Hook might go for the obvious route of using Belle. The description for Season 2, Episode 11: “The Outsider” (January 13) states, "Belle stumbles upon a vengefulHook in the Storybrooke harbor" and his "main goal" is still to "eradicate Rumplestiltskin." Should we put two and two together?
“Belle is such a huge part of Rumple, you know what I mean?” Colin told TVLine. “So, you know, she might figure into the equation…. He might use Belle, he might not.” But even though he’s proven he does have a dark, dastardly side, he’s not a real “villain.” “You saw in the midseason finale a little glimmer of him, in a way, honoring his offer — when he gives back Aurora’s heart and stuff like that,” Colin said. “It’s like, ‘Look, I may be a nasty piece of work, but I do have my code.’”
What do you think Hook will do to get revenge on Rumple? It seems obvious that he’d go after Belle, it’s not like he’s been a gentleman to her, but he’s not that bad a guy, so maybe he would just manipulate her instead of abducting or harming her. Part of the synopsis forEpisode 12: “In the Name of the Brother” (January 20) says Dr. Whale (David Anders) "is tasked with mending [Hook’s] wounds" and Rumple "tries to reunite with a despondent Belle." So … Hook will get hurt and Belle will be “despondent.” Hmm. Wouldn’t it be nice if Belle got the jump on someone else for a change and used him?
