Nominations for the Writers Guild Awards have been announced in three film categories Original, Adapted, and Documentary Screenplay and it's safe to say that these choices may provide a window into which screenplays will be nominated for Oscars when the Academy Award nominations are announced on January 10.

Last year, both screenplays that won WGA awards Midnight in Paris for Best Original, The Descendants for Best Adapted went on to win the same award on Oscar night. Not a bad track record!
