Bachelor Sean Lowe Defends His Actions: I Stayed True to Who I Am
A moment of real talk for all you Bachelor fans: We were a little worried that Sean Lowe is so nice, his season might be a bit of a snorer. But while we were fretting over being entertained, Sean is actually more focused on the other side of things — breaking hearts and taking names.
Sean speaks with ESPN about the role reversal (from rose-receiving to rose-doling) and how he’ll handle the anger that fans may send his way when they see how the lovin’ goes down. “As much as I'd like to say I don't pay attention to the press, it's hard not to. I know that negative criticism is coming my way. I'm prepared to handle that,” Sean tells the sports mag.
As for his motivations for going on the show, Sean insists there’s no underlying itch for fame or fortune — it’s all about love. “I went on the show staying true to who I am as a person and what I believe are the best decisions for me. I think hopefully it's conveyed to the people who watch the show. Hopefully America can sympathize with the position I'm in.”
But how will Sean handle letting people go? It was hard enough watching Emily Maynard send him home. Will he be able to make the tough calls and end relationships of his own? “I know I have to break some girls' hearts and I'm put in that tough position. At the end of the day, I was making the best decisions for me."
