Usher Talks The Voice Season 4 Coaches: “We Really Do Get Along, and Then We Don’t”

Sadly, we’re still 11 painfully long weeks away from The Voice Season 4 and two brand new coaches, but that won’t stop us from getting all the details we can before the show premieres on March 25.

Last night, Cee Lo Green’s replacement, Usher, made an appearance on Dateline NBC. The sexy R&B singer was his natural flirtatious self, but as soon as talk turned to the competition show, his inner warrior came out.

“Behind the scenes people don’t see what happens,” he said. “They don’t see how much of a drill sergeant I can be.”

And that drill sergeant already has a history of success. He “discovered” and signed pop superstar Justin Bieber. This fact will doubtlessly give him some brownie points when the blind auditions come along.

And the other coaches aren’t too thrilled by it.

“We really do get along, and then we don’t,” Usher said. “The point is to battle for the talent. Who knows, we may find a new superstar voice.”

And with a coach that’s actually won a music competition show, maybe The Voice will find a true superstar next season.

Unlike Christina Aguilera, who lost Star Search back in the day, Usher won the show at age 13.
