What divine mix of ethnic backgrounds produced our tall, dark, gorgeous Dr. Jackson Avery? And where are those dreamy baby blues from? A Scandinavian mom, of course.
Jesse Williams' mother is Swedish, and his father is African-American, the blend of which gave him his unmistakable caramely complexion and piercing blue eyes. But good looks aren't all the Grey's Anatomy star inherited from his parents. His mom, an artist, and his dad, a tool maker, both went on to become public school teachers. Williams followed in their footsteps before hitting it big in Hollywood, studying Film and African-American Studies in college before going on to teach American History, African History, and English in Philadelphia high schools. We wonder if any of the girls had trouble focusing.
Oh, Mr. Williams? Won't you please teach us something?
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
