Alexander Skarsgard and Ellen Page as Grungy Eco-Terrorists: First Look!
True Bloodhottie Alexander Skarsgard’s role in the upcoming film The East isn’t something you want to discuss, say, in an airport: He and Juno darling Ellen Page play terrorists!
The East — directed by Zal Batmanglij, who wrote the film with Brit Marling — focuses on a young intelligence officer, played by Brit, who is tasked with infiltrating a cult-like eco-terrorist group that huddles deep in the woods. Alex plays the group’s quasi-leader, Benji. "Benji believes in eye for an eye," Alex tells USA Today. "He attacks."
Ellen Page plays Izzy, a protege of and muse for Benji who eventually starts to question the group’s tactics. “The ethics of all it become very muddled,” teases Ellen.
Alex adds, “The question is, morally, where do you draw the line? How far are you willing to go for this cause?"
We don’t know about that, but we’re willing to go pretty far for the cause of seeing this movie. Are we right, Truebies?
