Miranda Lambert Is Still Mad That Chris Brown Is “Celebrated” After Hurting Rihanna
Country singer Miranda Lambert is a self-described "loudmouth," and, like her husband Blake Shelton, she lets her opinions fly on Twitter.
Last February she tweeted her frustration with Chris Brown performing two sets at the 2012 Grammys; Chris had assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009, just before the Grammys. "Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl…” Miranda added, "Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to [Miranda's song] 'Gunpowder and Lead' and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys."
Now she's on the February 2013 cover of Redbook, and she's not sorry about what she tweeted last year. "I didn’t feel right about not saying something," Miranda said (via Gossip Cop). "The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think. I wanted everyone to know that I don’t agree with the message it’s sending to young women. ... It’s not okay. At all. To be celebrated after doing something like that. I don’t think it’s right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day that I die.”
Rihanna and Chris Brown seem to be back in their "on" phase, at least as of New Year's, and they probably don't care what she thinks. Since they don't really care what anyone thinks.
Whose side are you on, if you have a side at all: Miranda's or Chris and Rihanna's?
