What Does Claire Danes Say She’d Be “Lousy” at When It Comes to Motherhood?
We don’t believe Claire Danes could be lousy at anything! Just look at her life: an incredibly gorgeous and talented actress with a hit TV Show (Homeland), multiple Golden Globes and Emmy Awards, and an infallibly dapper husband (Hugh Dancy). The woman couldn’t make a mistake if she tried! But the 33-year-old actress, who gave birth to son Cyrus Michael in December, recently opened up toELLE about her motherhood nerves and insecurities about staying home for baby.
"I've always wanted to have kids, but I'm glad I didn't until now," she says in the magazine. "When I was thinking about (working and being a mother) originally, I was really nervous about it."
“When I was thinking about [working and being a mother] originally, I was really nervous about it," she adds. "I think I would make a lousy stay-at-home mom. It just wouldn't suit me. I feel so fortunate, in that I've had this arrow-straight focus that I wanted to act." The new mom knows how lucky she is when it comes to her husband Hugh, who she met on the set of Evening in 2007.
"Hugh was just the right partner for me. I got very, very lucky," Danes says. "There's only so much credit you can take when it just sort of works, you know?"
