Miranda Lambert Talks Spending Time Apart From Husband Blake Shelton: “I Love It”
Life in the spotlight comes with a price, and for country music sensations Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, that has meant spending lots of time apart during their first year and a half of marriage. The power couple is constantly on the road performing, in addition to Blake’s stint as a coach on The Voice.
And though it’s hard being away from each other, Miranda recently revealed in her cover story with Redbook Magazine, that the time apart has its perks.
"I love it,” she admitted. “This time I hadn't seen him in 11 days, and he was just so happy when I got here, it was like [she makes an angels-singing voice] 'Ahh, you're here.' When I go to The Voice set and everyone says, 'Blake's been talking about you so much,' it just makes me feel special, you know?”
Awww! But when it comes to their “alone time,” Miranda can get territorial quickly.
"I'm more protective,” she continued. “He's the sweetest guy. Like, he will talk to anyone, sign anything, take a picture with everyone. And if I don't stop it at some point, it ruins our whole night. I have to be the bad guy. The people are like, 'Oh, God, don't mess with her, she'll murder people.'"
