He's now hosting Naomi Campbell's new modeling competition, The Face, which premieres February 12 at 9 p.m. on Oxygen. Nigel talked to OK! Magazine about the natural comparisons between his old ANTM gig and The Face. "[T]he huge difference is [The Face] is a very authentic take on what this business is," Nigel told OK! "It’s real jobs, it’s real models, it’s real supermodels and the contestants are cast from all over the world — not just from America," Nigel explained. "It’s a shake up of the business and it’s not about being America’s this or that. You could be the face of the world and I think that’s what’s so exciting."
Another difference, Nigel added, is the clients booking the jobs are the ones who decide who wins or leaves, not a panel of judges. "That throws the whole thing on it’s head," Nigel said. "You have no idea who's going to win because it doesn’t matter who you think a judge would favor."
The real verdict in The Face vs. ANTM may be in a comparison of who gets the most post-show jobs. If The Face actually crowns the next Tyra, Naomi or Gisele ... well, that would certainly make them the new top model. But we're still loyal to ANTM — especially now that the boys are coming on Cycle 20!
