While this episode didn't pack a surprise quite as big as Toby (Keegan Allen) being "A," it did bring all the thrills, scares, and twists we want to see in a PLL premiere.
Mona's (Janel Parrish) out of Radley and back at Rosewood High, and it rocks our world. We don't buy her reformed act for a second, but we love that the rest of the school has fallen for her "poor me, I was bullied until I snapped" routine. Having her back in the game is everything we could have wanted.
Speaking of the "A" team, what about Toby (Keegan Allen) and the creepy hot tub scene? We're already missing the days where Spencer (Troian Bellisario)/Toby moments were a time for romance, not chills, but we do like being kept on our toes.
Of course, then there's the revelation that Alison (Sasha Pieterse) had been blackmailing Byron (Chad Lowe) back in the day. No big deal ... except that it's a huge deal! Does this mean Aria's (Lucy Hale) dad was involved in Ali's death somehow? We're not sure yet, but we were definitely on the edge of our seat every time he was on-screen.
And then, of course, there's the Jason (Drew Van Acker) situation. It looks like he was the one Aria stabbed during the Halloween episode. Probably? Maybe? WHAT?!
Overall, we give it 4.5 stars. What did you think?
