Which Glee Star’s “Biggest Fear” is Public Singing?
A Glee star couldn’t possibly be afraid of singing in front of large groups of people, right? Wrong!
Chris Colfer (Kurt) spoke to Vulture about his new film, Struck by Lightning, which co-stars Pitch Perfect’s Rebel Wilson. Chris was asked is he got to participate in a “riff-off” with Rebel during downtime on the set, and he shot down that notion in no uncertain terms.
“I don't sing unless I have to. Or in the shower,” Chris claims. “Honestly, singing is my biggest fear. I never participate in group singing activity.”
Wait — say what?! Why would a guy with such an amazing voice not want to share it with the world? Don’t deprive us of your gift, dude!
Chris admits that it’s been a challenge to get over his “fear of public singing,” especially “on the live Glee tour, where we have to sing live every single show.”

“I wish I [could conquer the fear of singing live], but I just force myself to go out there, even when I'm shaking,” he explains. “It's so different to sing in the studio, to record a song with just you and the engineer. That I can do.”
Chris says that other Glee stars love singing impromptu “duet-offs” in between takes, but that’s not for him. “I just save it for on-camera,” he says.
We must say, we appreciate Chris being honest about his insecurities. That said, we would trade singing voices with him in a flash!
