True Blood Season 6: New Showrunner Hints at the Future for Bill, Sookie, and Jason
Now that Alan Ball has jumped ship to start his own show, Cinemax’s Banshee, co-executive producer Mark Hudis is taking over as True Blood’s showrunner. And he doesn’t seem quite as tight-lipped as his predecessor: Mark spoke to Haverford College’s alumni magazine about what the next season has in store for some of our favorite Bon Temps residents.
“Certainly [Bill] is not going to be the Bill we know and love,” Mark teases. “He’s going to have more bite, no pun intended.”
And as for the Stackhouse sibs? Sookie and Jason will spend much of Season 6 looking for Warlow, the vampire to whom Sookie has been promised.
Mark also plans on centering the season’s action in Bon Temps, bringing the characters’ storylines closer together.
It’s not particularly easy taking the reins from Alan, Mark says. “It’s impossible to fill Alan Ball’s shoes. That’s not false modesty, that’s the truth. The guy’s created two massive hit shows for HBO and has on Oscar. Really, this plane is in the air, and I just want to land it safely.”
With plans like these, we expect Mark to stick the landing.
