Darren Criss Receives Award Nomination For Which Glee Performance?
Glee might not have received any nominations for last night’s Golden Globe Awards (sob!), but Darren Criss is doing his part to make sure the show isn’t totally forgotten during this year’s awards season.
Nominations for the fourth annual Dorian Awards have been announced by the Gay & Lesbian Entertainment Critics, and Darren earned a well-deserved “TV Musical Performance of the Year” nomination for this season’s “Teenage Dream.”
Some fans were bitter that Blaine’s somber version of the song in Season 4, Episode 4: “The Break-Up” tainted their memories of his joyous rendition back when he first met Kurt in Season 2. Still, there’s no denying that Darren did a mind-blowingly awesome job on it this season, even if it did leave us in tears.
Also nominated in the category is Jennifer Hudson’s tribute to Whitney Houston at last year’s Grammy ceremony, two songs from Smash, and a tune by The Voice contestant De’Borah Garner.
If you ask us, Darren has this in the bag. However, we’ll have to wait until January 16 to find out if the voters agree!
