Jessica Simpson to Star in New NBC Sitcom Based on Her Life
It's been far too long since you've watched Jessica Simpson get confused by things like Chicken of the Sea. She's correcting this by following her early Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica reality show success with a new scripted show based on her life.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jessica is reteaming with Fashion Star producer Electus and NBC for an as-yet untitled comedy.
According to Electus founder and chairman Ben Silverman, Jessica is "truly a modern-day Lucy with incredible comedic chops." He added, "From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mom, we see Jessica's character approach a variety of 'everyday' circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud."
Jessica — who is currently pregnant with her second child, and also working as a judge/mentor on Fashion Star — added her thoughts to THR: "I am so excited to work with Ben and NBC again, this time on a scripted comedy. I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life — so between the real-life elements and a great team of writers, I think we'll have people laughing!"
Or crying into their hands, depending on their point of view. What do you think? Are you ready to watch the new mom's life play out ... again?
