Joe Manganiello Talks Season 6, Showing Skin, and Shaving That Beard
True Blood’s production hiatus is over, meaning the wolfpack is back at work — including its alpha male, Alcide, and the actor behind the snarl, Joe Manganiello.
Joe spoke to Access Hollywood about returning to his regular gig, the raciness of Season 6, and stripping down to play Alcide.
First of all, that beard he’s been sporting the past couple of months has got to go. He grew it out for his role in the upcoming action flick Ten, but it’s apparently unbecoming of Alcide. “It’s gonna get cut off this week to go back to [work],” Joe says.
So what can we expect from Season 6? “[It’s] racier,” Joe teases. “My character’s taken over the wolfpack. So, as an alpha [in] a pack of dogs, you gotta regulate... you gotta set it straight with everybody. So there’s some violence. It’ll be fun.”
He also promises that Season 6 will be wilder and more uninhibited than than show’s previous chapters.
And if that involves more nudity for Joe, he’s braced, especially because temperatures in Southern California haven’t exactly been balmy.
“Wednesday night I start shooting, so I really hope it warms up by then, or it’s going to be a really tough night,” he says with a chuckle.
