Glad you asked, friends. The CW’s newest show, The Carrie Diaries, is a 1980s-era fashion-n-family-focused show based on Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw and her early years.
The show, starring AnnaSophia Robb, will be taking Gossip Girl’s Monday 9PM time slot. So, when can you start indulging all your SATC-fueled neon-print cravings? The show will be launching on Monday, January 14, 2013.
Even if you haven’t seen Sex and the City or read the novel it was based on (by the great Candace Bushnell), there will be lots that’s familiar to you. Showrunners include Gossip Girl alumni Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and the show will even have the same stylist as Gossip Girl — Eric Daman! Not to mention music genius Alexandra Patsavas, who is responsible for the tunes on The O.C., Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, and more, will be keeping things catchy in the CD sound department.
If you’re a die-hard SATC fan, you should note that Eric earned his fashion chops working on the iconic show, and while it won’t be rich with Manolo and Choo, it will be a style mecca in its own right.
