Bugaboo Recalls 50,000 Donkey and Cameleon Strollers
One of the top names (and price tags) in strollers has just recalled two models for detachable handles on the carrycot/seat that could put babies at risk of falling or choking, the CPSC reports.
No injuries have been reported, but there have been 58 cases of the faulty handles so far, so Bugaboo is taking swift action to offer replacements to customers who apply. The carrycot/seat portion of the device is affected, but the stroller itself has been deemed safe.
To find out of your stroller is eligible for the handle replacement, look for the model name on the fabric tag on the side of the sun canopy, as well as the serial number located under the carrycot/seat on the stroller’s chassis. These particular models have been sold online and in stores as far back as 2009, so hand-me-down strollers should be checked as well.
The Bugaboo Cameleon strollers recalled include: Serial Number 04011090900001 to 04031101009999, Serial Number 08011090900001 to 08021100800386, and Serial Number 140100093600531 to 140103123350418. The Bugaboo Donkey strollers recalled include: Serial Number 170101105300001 to 170104130900500.
